The continuous renovation of the factory

As the saying goes, "A workman must first sharpen his tools if he is to do his job well." With the continuous changes and improvements in the requirements of various factors such as production processes, environment, safety, efficiency and cost, the construction projects of factories also need to keep up and match.

In order to keep the factory in a safe, stable, efficient and intelligent operating state, our company has been following the policy of "one-time planning and phased implementation" since 2017 to continuously carry out all-round renovations of the factory. During this period, we completed a number of large-scale projects, including the "5-in-4 Project" of the first-phase molding workshop, the "2-in-4 Project" of the second-phase injection workshop, the comprehensive renovation project of the third-phase rubber mixing workshop, the renovation of the air compressor room, the canteen, the rain and sewage renovation, the circulating water renovation, the construction of the three-dimensional warehouse, the construction and relocations of the laboratory, etc. The layout, flow lines and appearance of the factory have all undergone brand-new changes.

Transformation is also improvement and is an indispensable part of the company's continuous improvement activities. In this article, I will report to you on several important renovation projects and achievements of the factory in the past half year.

Layout renovation of the post-treatment workshop

The post-treatment process area in the first-phase workshop has long been characterized by an unreasonable layout and chaotic flow lines. Coupled with the reasonable usage demands after the introduction of new automated equipment such as automatic edge trimming machines and visual inspection machines, our company carried out a comprehensive renovation of the post-treatment process area in January 2025.

After the transformation, the process route and material flow line have become more convenient and efficient, and the space utilization rate has been significantly improved. The standardization and upgrading of supporting matters such as water, electricity and gas have effectively solved the chronic problems that existed before.

2. Introduction of the circulating cooling water purification system

Circulating cooling water is an extremely important auxiliary facility in rubber production, which is related to the results of multiple processes such as rubber compounding, molding and testing. Although our company introduced a closed-cycle water tower in 2023, there are still deficiencies in the water softening and purification system. For this reason, in March 2025, we renovated the circulating water pipeline and introduced circulating water purification equipment. First, we treated the dirt in the existing pipeline, and then put the new equipment into use.

The new pipelines are made of PE and PPR materials, eliminating the worry of corrosion and rusting. The new purification system can monitor the circulating water quality at any time, automatically replenish chemicals for purification, and keep the water quality in a standard state all the time. It effectively solves stubborn problems such as substandard water quality and pipeline scaling. While making the production quality more stable, it also effectively plays the role of protecting equipment and molds.

Renovation of the cooling system in the factory building

Cooling measures have always been a very troublesome problem for most high-temperature and high-heat factories. In recent years, our company has also been greatly troubled by it, and we have taken many detours along the way.

The previous design of the cooling system had obvious flaws. Firstly, the air supply mode for positions. The work area was cold, with cold air blowing directly at the employees, while other areas were hot. Under the state of sudden temperature changes, it was very easy to cause adverse reactions such as heatstroke. Secondly, the number of water-cooled air conditioners is insufficient, and the volume of cold air is far lower than the demand, resulting in the workshop being in a high-temperature state all the time. The next issue is that water-cooled air conditioners frequently malfunction and cannot operate stably.

In order to thoroughly create a comfortable production environment, after thorough research, investigation, communication and review, we have formulated a brand-new cooling system plan, which was completed and put into use in March 2025.

Firstly, the new cooling system has adopted an overall air supply mode to lower the overall temperature in the workshop and enhance comfort. Secondly, the number of water-cooled air conditioners has been increased to ensure a sufficient amount of cold air enters, supplemented by effective exhaust air to quickly dissipate heat. Thirdly, the single-machine "intelligent frequency conversion" operation mode has been abandoned, and a centralized circulating water supply system and an overall operation mode have been adopted to reduce the machine failure rate. Finally, corresponding equipment was installed in areas such as warehouses where there was no cold air supply before to ensure simultaneous support.

4. Warehouse floor renovation

The floor of our company's warehouse was originally kept clean by constantly waxing, but the effect has always been unsatisfactory. It gets dirty as soon as forklifts pass by. The human resources invested and the costs spent have remained persistently high, and the warehouse staff are also suffering greatly. It can be said that they are both mentally and physically exhausted and have wasted money. After consulting, considering and inspecting various floor treatment plans and the site, we adopted the solidified floor plan and renovated the warehouse floor in May 2025. The new floor system has been solidified and polished on the basis of the original diamond sand floor, thus achieving the application effects of being pressure-resistant, wear-resistant, bright and easy to clean. We have been expanding horizontally to formulate renovation and transformation plans for the floors in other areas of the factory. This not only reduces maintenance costs but also enhances the factory's production operation and 5S performance.
